There’s something special about reconnecting with a hobby you loved as a child. Getting back on the ice after decades helped save me from the dark depths of grief.
It’s fun, it’s frustrating, and then usually fun again to relearn old things and learn new things as an adult. It also gives me something to look forward to during the draining ass work week.
In case this helps anyone else with grief: I heard the advice once to try a hobby completely unrelated to the loved one you lost. At first I thought it sounded cold, but in doing that I’ve realized it was actually useful advice.
